Participating in the Workshop and delivering the welcome speech was Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien. Attending the Workshop were Mr. Dang Vu Minh, Chairman of Vietnam Science and Technique Association and many managers of Ministries, branches, scientists of universities, research institutes and representatives from Vietnam’s companies and enterprise.

In the Workshop, experts from Bulgaria’s Worley Parsons Group and Risk Engineering Group presented experience in implementing consultancy and construction of nuclear works, nuclear electricity plants in the world and in Bulgaria.

Managers, scientists and experts in the field of construction management were also shared and provided with experience of representatives from the two groups so that Vietnam could have more information of challenges, difficulties faced by the nation when it firstly implements the nuclear electricity program as issue relating to technology – equipment technology, preparation for construction locations, issue of technical support for establishing the legal framework of regulatory agencies, access to EPC contracts, analysis in terms of economic aspect of nuclear electricity projects with the participation of local contractors, issue on human resource development, risks arisen during the construction, installation and operation of new nuclear electricity plants and roles of consultants’ experience for investors… These are valuable lessons learnt, experience so that the implementation of projects would not be faced with avoidable mistakes.
