Strengthening Vietnam – India Science and Technology Cooperation

Within the framework of the Program on Cooperation signed in March 2012 between Vietnam’s MOST and Department of Biology Technology (DBT) – India’s MOST on the field of Biology Technology, the delegation has studied technology research and development activities in four research units under DBT and proposed some potential cooperation tasks in fields of agriculture and health. In the wrap-up meeting in New Dehli in the afternoon of September 17, 2012, the Indian party has agreed to send a delegation of high-level scientists to attend themed workshops in Vietnam early December in order to identify prioritized orientation orientations in the field of biology technology between the two countries.

Regarding the field of Information Technology, the delegation has worked with the Department of Electronics and Information Technology – India’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to discuss about cooperative abilities in the field of information security and safety. The two parties have reached high consensus on signing a State-level cooperation document in this field. It is jointly affirmed that potential cooperation in this field is very huge from research and development to application and development of information technology industry. The Indian party has showed its willingness for the comprehensive cooperation on this field with Vietnam.

The delegation has also worked with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) – Indian Department of Space in Bangalore City to discuss about bilateral cooperation in the field of Space S&T, especially the development of small observing satellites together with other relevant technologies.
