The Minister expressed his thanks for supports provided by IAEA for Vietnam over the past time in order to develop atomic energy applications.
Mr. Yang affirmed with a big program on nuclear electricity of a nation to prepare for the first nuclear electricity factory, Vietnam would be an ideal example for those who desire and are in the process of reviewing the use and development of nuclear electricity. Therefore, a successful nuclear electricity program in Vietnam would bring in an important meaning and Vietnam has been considered as the most important partners in the Southeast Asian region for IAEA at present. IAEA has committed to strengthen more supports in fields of developing nuclear applications (both energy field and non-energy field), ensuring the nuclear safety, inspection and security. On this occasion, Mr. Yang sent to the Minister IAEA’s high appreciation about Vietnam’s results and efforts, especially those of VARANS which have been achieved over the past time.
At the meeting, in order to strengthen more cooperation activities in the coming time, the two parties discussed on key issues including Country Program Framework (CPF); National Coordinating Officer (NLO) and reviewing the plan on organizing the Summit Conference on using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes in Vietnam.
