This is one of the topic in Vietnam – Australia Medical Science and Health Services Conference organized from July 19 to 20, 2016 in Ha Noi.

Deputy Minister delivered a speech in the Workshop

Delivering a speech in the Workshop, Deputy Minister Trần Quốc Khánh said cooperation activities in health field in Viet Nam and Australia over the past time have achieved many good results. Through different cooperation channels, many projects have been implemented, contributing important parts to disease diagnosis and treatment in Viet Nam. These projects have not only improved capacities of doctors but also contributed to upgrading the system of advanced treatment equipment.

Regarding the S&T cooperation, in June 2013, the two countries signed the Cooperation Agreement on S&T with contents on development and implementation of joint programs and Research and Development projects; sharing S&T information; exchanging scientists and technical experts to participate in joint research and development projects; organizing international sciences conferences and workshops and training on topics of mutual interests.

In order to implement the Agreement, in March 2016, the two parties organized the First meeting of the Mixed committee on S&T cooperation between the two countries in order to identify prioritized cooperation fields. One of important fields agreed to be implemented are medical sciences and community healthcare.

In addition, the two parties can have some other cooperation forms on the basis of mutual agreement in the Mixed committee on S&T cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Trần Quốc Khánh highly appreciated the organization of the Conference with professional knowledge and experience in scientific research and innovation in the field of medical sciences and health services, at the same time committed to allocate budget for joint research projects between the two countries for the coming time.

“The Conference is an opportunity for research units and scientist of the two countries to meet and exchange cooperation directions in education, research and technology transfer”, the Deputy Minister said.

Within the framework of the Workshop, the participants would have opportunities to exchange and share experience through some topics on improving capacities of research and innovation in Viet Nam – Australia medical sciences; improving the quality of healthcare services through innovation; impacts of innovations in medical services in terms of health care quality; research on applying stem cells; models to provide health services, health finance and framework of insurance systems,…
