Deputy Minister Chu Ngọc Anh met with South Korean Environment Mission

On May 24, 2012, in Hanoi Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngọc Anh met with the mission of Korean Environment Corporation (KECO) led by Mr. Woo Jong Jin, Vice President concurrently Director of KECO.


Deputy Minister Chu Ngọc Anh met with the mission of Korean Environment Cooperation

In the meeting, Mr. Woo Jong Jin highly appreciated cooperation achievements in terms of economic, political, cultural aspects between Vietnam and South Korea over the past time. At the same time, he expressed the importance of the cooperation with MOST and highly appreciated preparations made by the State Agency for Technology Innovation (SATI) for signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KECO.

Mr. Woo Jong Jin briefly reported to Deputy Minister Chu Ngọc Anh on the cooperation plan between KECO and SATI. Within the cooperation framework between the two parties, KECO hoped to have supports from MOST as well as that the two parties would specify the content of signed activities and would extend cooperation in fields which the two parties are able to develop in the future.

On behalf of MOST’s leaders, Deputy Minister Chu Ngọc Anh welcomed the KECO’s mission to pay a visit and working session with MOST. Deputy Minister Chu Ngọc Anh shared, in addition to the fact of being a strategic partner, MOST hopes South Korean is a nation from which MOST can have many lesson learnt, especially those in access and transfer of new technologies for the economic development.

“Currently Vietnam has been one of the countries which are seriously affected by climate change and been aware of environmental issues within the context of a developing country. Therefore, Vietnam has considered that one of the cooperation priorities with South Korea is to be able to learn from experience, transfer technology in the environment field, even conduct joint researches appropriate with Vietnam’s specific conditions in order to develop together’, said Deputy Minister Chu Ngọc Anh.

With the signing of MOU between SATI and KECO, the Deputy Minister hoped the two parties would pay attention and create favorable conditions for the coordination to be put into operation and have active starting steps. The Deputy Minister affirmed that MOST would create best conditions for SATI and KECO to realize the cooperation contents.
