In the meeting, the two parties have had proposals and shared experience on the current most advanced exploiting titanic technology in the world, especially plasma technology in manufacturing high-quality Titanic dioxide TiO2 from Vietnam’s clean titanic ore, in addition cooperation directions in fields of science and standardization have been discussed in order to prepare for the 14th session of the Inter-governmental Commission expected to be organized by the end of October in Kiev.

Ukraine’s Ambassador Oleksiy Shovkoplias emphasized that Ukraine has been ready to sign highly enforceable documents and remove those documents which are not applicable, practical and has focused the cooperation between the two countries on S&T and standardization. In order to create the good competitiveness from Vietnam to Ukraine and vice versa, Ambassador Oleksiy Shovkoplias has proposed to establish the department of standardization and conformity of the two countries in parallel with the establishment of a group “quick response”, then they can update and response in order to solve difficulties arisen during the implementation process..

Also according to Ambassador Oleksiy Shovkoplias, the cooperation in exploiting titanic ore and titanic products has high requirements in terms of the environmental aspect, therefore Ukraine has been ready to transfer exploiting and processing technologies to Vietnam through establishing a joint laboratory in Vietnam to analyze titanic ore and titanic products. He hoped that this meeting would create the new motivation for the cooperation between the two countries on the above- mentioned issues.

Delivering a speech in the meeting, Deputy Minister Lê Đình Tiến affirmed that Vietnam and Ukraine has had good traditional relations and many generations of Vietnamese scientists have been trained in Ukraine .. especially S&T field will be the background – the premises which contributes to promote the development of industries of the two countries.

Deputy Minister Lê Đình Tiến has also expressed his support for the cooperation between the two countries in fields of conformity and standard certification. However, the Deputy Minister has reminded the two parties to focus on each specific issue so that the cooperation would be of highly practical manner, including access to the most advanced titanic exploiting and processing technologies in the world, then would select the most appropriate and efficient methods, relevant to potentials of the two countries.

It is known that since 2010 Vietnam and Ukraine have been implementing some topics as cooperation on research, design, manufacturing of controlled hot air balloon in optimal shapes; geographical background in the management and exploitation of natural resources, environmental protection along river banks for the sustainable development (for example Hương river and Bug Nam river - Ukraine); Vietnam – Ukraine relations in the new international context,…

The Ukraine’s party has been ready to support funds for joint cooperation topics and projects and let Vietnam to participate in some important scientific projects as Studying on design and manufacturing underground robot equipment for exploring and exploiting works on the sea … In addition, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (MOST) also signed the Cooperation Agreement with The State Committee of Ukraine on Technical Regulation in fields of standardization, metrology and appropriateness assessment.
