In the meeting, Minister Nguyễn Quân
highly appreciated cooperative relations in S&T between Vietnam and India,
which has opened a new stage in the development of many technology fields India
has had potentials.
Minister Nguyễn Quân welcomed Indian
scientists who visited, worked with MOST and attended the International
workshop on Vietnam – India Biology Technology which took place in Hanoi from
February 27 to 28, 2013. Through the workshop, scientists of the two countries
would have opportunities to share and learn experience to develop joint
potential research projects in fields of applying biology technology the two
parties are interested.
The Minister also hoped more and
more Indian scientists could come to Vietnam to promote cooperation programs on
S&T to be developed equally to potentials of each country.
Regarding
cooperative relations in S&T field, since 1978 the two Governments have
approved the signing of Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
This Agreement is the basis for Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology
and India’s Ministry of Science and Technology to set up Vietnam – India
Sub-committee for S&T Cooperation. So far, the two parities shave
organized 09 sessions of the Sub-committee and carried out some joint
research projects in fields of information technology, agriculture, industry,
remote sensing, environmental protection…
