Signing ceremony on Technical Cooperation between Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute

On August 5, 2015, outside the 11st National Conference Nuclear Science and Technology, Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Technical Cooperation...



Participating in the Signing ceremony of the MoU on Technical Cooperation between VINATOM and KAERI, on VINATOM’s side were Mr. Trần Chí Thành, Director; Mr. Nguyễn Nhị Điền, Deputy Director and leaders of the Department of International Cooperation, on the KAERI’s side was Mr. Cheol PARK, Director of Research Reactor Pile HANARO, on behalf of Mr. Jong Kyung Kim, Director and Professor Bub Dong Chung.

The general objective of the MoU is to strengthen technical cooperation between the two sides in the nuclear technology field for peaceful purposes. According to the MoU, the cooperation contents between the two side consists of research reactor piles; safety of nuclear power reactor piles; use of nuclear technology; safety and monitoring of environmental radiation; management of radiation wastes; removal; human resource development; cooperation fields according to agreements of the two sides.

The signing of MoU between VINATOM and KEARI has opened opportunities which are long-term and develop more and more in research and development of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes between the two sides.
