Awarding Campaign Medal “For the cause of Science and Technology” for ex-Representative of UNIDO in Vietnam

On June 01, 2011, in Hanoi Deputy Minister of Science and Technology(MOST) Trần Việt Thanh presented Campaign Medal “For the cause of Science and Technology” for Ms. Nilgun Taps –ex-Representative of the United Nations Industrial Development...

During the time of being the Representative of UNIDO in Vietnam (2007-2010), Ms. Nilgun Tapsestablished very good cooperative relations with partners, at the same time actively supported proposals and initiatives of beneficiaries, helped UNIDO’s projects to be carried out favorably and contributed to the development of small and medium enterprises and private sector in Vietnam. Ms.Nilgun Tapsalso led, provided guidelines, encouraged and attracted the participation of relevant individuals, mobilized maximum resources for the success of projects. She also cooperated with other international organizations as World Bank (WB), International Trade Center (ITC), UNDP, FAO, ILO,… to have supports from these organizations for the development of S&T, standards, metrology and quality in Vietnam.

The fact that MOST awarded the Campaign Medal “For the Science and Technology cause” to Ms. Nilgun Tapshas not only recognized contributions of Ms. Nilgun Taps herself but also acknowledged merits of UNIDO in particular and the United Nations in general for Vietnam. MOST has believed that with her knowledge and enthusiasm, Ms. Nilgun Tapswould continue more her support and contributions for the development of S&T and economic and social aspects of Vietnam in the future.
