On September 09, 2011, in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyen Quan had a meeting and working session with Mr. Allaster Cox, Australian Ambassador in Vietnam.

MOST Minister Nguyen Quan met with Mr. Allaster Cox, Australian Ambassador in Vietnam

In the meeting, Mr. Allaster Cox expressed his hope to promote more S&T cooperation between the two countries and hoped that the two parties would sign S&T cooperation agreement this year.

Minister Nguyen Quan thanked the Ambassador for visiting and working with MOST and expressed his consensus with the Ambassador about the fact that MOST would speed up sot the Agreement between the two countries would e singed soon, then creating favorable conditions for Australian and Vietnamese universities and research institutes to strengthen their cooperation, research and support for Vietnam’s S&T.

Minister Nguyen Quan shared about fields which Vietnam has paid attention and hoped to have support from Australia as training staff in managing science, health, agriculture, post-harvest preservation for agricultural products, uranium exploitation and processing, especially in the context that Vietnam is preparing to build the first nuclear electricity plant ,…

Responding to the proposal of Minister Nguyen Quan, the Ambassador said that over the past time in the above-mentioned fields there have been cooperation projects between the two countries. The Ambassador also said that the above-mentioned fields should be integrated in the Cooperation Agreement between the two countries for the coming time, then creating the momentum to promote better in fields which are of interests of both parties.

Minister Nguyen Quan thanked the Ambassador for paying attention to cooperation relations in S&T fields between the two countries and hoped the in his term, the Ambassador would pay attention to Vietnam, especially in S&T field.
