In the meeting, on behalf of MOST, Minister Hoàng Văn Phong warmly welcomed the delegation to visit and work with MOST. Minister Hoàng Văn Phong said that this was an important event for S&T activities. At the same time this was also an opportunity to strengthen traditionally friendly cooperative relations between the two countries.

Mr. Juraj Miskov said that SlovakiaVietnam relationships have been firm and always developed well. Slovakia has identified fields which the two parties are able to cooperate. Among which are fields Slovakia which can provide, support equipment, machines as well as fields it can establish joint ventures with Vietnam.

Minister Juraj Miskov said that the renovation and transfer of technology at present and in the future have been always the flow to promote the development. The Repulic of Slovakia has been fully awared of this so it takes a lot of efforts in investing in sciences and research. Slovakia has selected branches and phases which need to invest financial resources for S&T development.

Fields of which Slovakia has advantages are automobile production; electricity and electronics industries; atomic energy. Slovakia has had 60-year experience in atomic energy field therefore it is an industry which Slovakia has realized that it has many possibilities to support Vietnam. Mr. Juraj Miskov has proposed with Vietnam cooperation possiblities in training for officials and staff on operation of nuclear power plants and sharing experience on this issue.

Minister Hoàng Văn Phong expressed his supports and sincere thanks for proposals made by Minister Juraj Miskov. Minister Hoàng Văn Phong shared that MOST would expect to invite scientists and experts in atomic energy fiedl to participate in the construction of nuclear power plants. First and foremost, it would be issues of consultancy, supervision, formulation of legal documents, safety in the construction and operation of nuclear power plants. In addition, developing cooperation and investment in fields of mechanic engineering and processing industry are issues to which MOST has paid attention to.

In the meeting, the two parties expressed their hopes that cooperation relations between Vietnam and Slovakia would develop better and better.
