Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Lang and Deputy Minister Sakhone CHALEUNVONG both said that good cooperative relations between the two countries, two nations have been an affirmed tradition for a long time. The two Deputy Minister agreed for the coming time S&T cooperation activities between the two countries should be strengthened more. At the same time it has been affirmed that cooperation activities would be supported by creating favorable legal framework and agencies of bilateral relations be supported.

The mission had a working session with the Management Training Institute in order to wrap-up cooperation tasks according to the Protocol (period from 2010 to 2011) and discuss cooperation directions between the two parties for the coming time. The two parties agreed that the task of “Providing updated knowledge for S&T managers of Democratic Republic of Laos” (2010-2011) has been coordinated very successfully. The two parties have mobilized all resources and overcome difficulties to achieve set targets.

It is said that by end of 2009, Vietnam’s MOST assigned MOST Management Training Institute to fulfill the above-mentioned task with main contents as developing the training program on “Improving S&T management capacities for staff of Democratic Republic of Laos”; compiling and translating into Laotian the teaching materials of the above mentioned program; organizing 04 training courses for Laos’ S&T managers (02 courses in Vientiane and 02 courses in Hanoi).

Within the framework of the visit, the mission of Laos’ MOST led by Deputy Minister Sakhone CHALEUNVONG to visit and work with Department of Science and Technology of Ninh Binh province, Do Son Center for Scientific Workshop – the agency under MOST Management Training Institute in Hai Phong City.
