From 09/8/2010 to 13/8/2010, in Hanoi Asia – Pacific Advanced Network took place - APAN30

For the first time Asia – Pacific Advanced Network (APAN30) was organized in Vietnam with the host of National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) – Minister of Science and Technology (MOST). Attending the Conference were 300 participants, in which more than 160 came from 19 countries and territories in the Asia – Pacific region.

APAN has provided advanced network systems for research and education communities in the Asia – Pacific region, supported and developed at the maximum research and education activities at national, regional and international levels. Currently, Vietnam Research and Education Network (VinaREN) is a member of APAN.

In this Conference, experts would present and introduce latest achievements in terms of technology and use of advanced networks, be focused on distant medical topics (e-Medicine), high-definition television (HDTV), distant research (e-Research), middle software (Middlewwar), Ipv6, network security, electronic agriculture (E-Agriculture), climate change, universal observation, Internet’s future generations,…

This is a favorable opportunity for Vietnamese research and development experts to meet and share their knowledge and experience with colleagues from more than 30 countries in the world, open global cooperation opportunities in the field of advanced networks for research and education.

Delivering a speech in the Conference, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyễn Văn emphasized that over the past 5 years, MOST has assigned NASATI to invest in the construction and development of VinaREN, connect research and education communities together inside the country with international ones.

The participation in projects of TEIN2/3 and APAN is a favorable opportunity for Vietnamese research and development experts to meet and share their knowledge and experience with colleagues from more than 30 countries in the world, open global cooperation opportunities in the field of advanced networks for research and education.

APAN is an international organization which has been established since 6/1997 with objectives of promoting research in the field of network technology and developing highly efficient broad-band network applications. This is the largest source of information in terms of research and education in the region.
