Deputy Minister Nguyễn Quân met with the Japanese parliamentarian delegation

On 11/10/2010, in Hanoi Standing Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Nguyễn Quân met with the Japanese Parliamentarian Delegation led by Mr. Teruhiko Mashiko, ex-Deputy Minister of Economics, Commerce and Industry of Japan.

On behalf of MOST, Deputy Minister Nguyễn Quân expressed his pleasure to meet with the Parliamentarian Delegation which paid a visit to Vietnam and worked with MOST.

In the meeting, the two parties discussed on the cooperation in the nuclear electricity field as well as the assurance for reactor pies, issues relating to building high-speed railway systems and treatment of underground water, waste water, building of high-tech parks. The cooperation between the two countries in the nuclear electricity field is an issue to which Senators have paid attention. Mr. Teruhiko Mashiko affirmed that Japan has had 50 years of experience in building nuclear electricity factories and 54 groups have been operated in a safe and efficient manner. Therefore, Japan would be a reliable partner for Vietnam in this field. Japan’s directions are to provide Vietnam a packaged service, not only building the nuclear electricity factory but also supporting Vietnam to have more financial resources to support maintenance and operation of machines and human resource training.

Mr. Teruhiko Mashiko also expressed his desires to promote more the cooperation with Vietnam in development of high-tech parks, cosmography and scientific and technical advanced in healthcare field. Japan would provide supports to Vietnam and together cooperate for development.

Affirming the good relations between Vietnam and Japan over the past time, Deputy Minster Nguyễn Quân highly appreciated the goodwill and supports provided by Japanese Government for Vietnam. The Deputy Minister hoped that in the coming time cooperative relations between the two countries would develop better and better.

In the coming year, MOST will set up the S&T representative unit in Japan, which will be the focal point to help information between the two countries faster and more effective. The Deputy Minister hoped that with the Japan’s cooperation, Vietnam would continue speed up the S&T development, especially in the field of nuclear electricity and other fields as development of Hoa Lac High-Tech Parks, cosmography… At the same time, Vietnam’s MOST would coordinate with relevant Ministries and branches to strengthen the cooperation efficiency with Japan in S&T development.
