The two parties have introduced with each other about basic professional activities as well as discussed the purpose and content of MoU signing. UL is an organization which certifies and test product safety independently and for non-profit purposes. With the more-than-one-century history (from 1894), the Association has been one of the US leading organization in the field of testing and certifying food safety. Standards issued by UL have been applied in more than 100 nations and each year tens of billions of UL labels have been attached to products all over the world. UL has developed more than 1,000 standards on the safety. Millions of products and equipment have been tested with UL’s strict safety standards; as a result consumers can live in a safer environment.
With UL’s prestige and experience, STAMEQ hoped the signing of MoU would bring in UL’s supports for standards establishment, training on standards, metrology and quality, product testing and safety and introduction and issuance of UL standards to Vietnamese enterprises. The two parties have made proposals and continue to complete these so that the MoU can be signed in the middle of September 2009.
