Vietnam Commission for Atomic Energy met with the Delegation of French Committee for Atomic Energy and signed the transfer of the calculation program CATHARE

On 01/7/2009, at the office of Vietnam Commission for Atomic Energy (VCAE) took place the working session between the French Delegation of the Committee for Atomic Energy (CEA) and VCAE.

The French Delegation was led by Mr. Didier Kéchmair, Deputy Director of CEA’s Department of International Cooperation, which consists of 6 members including representatives from French International Cooperation Agency (AFNI), AREVATA Company, and French Institute for Nuclear Safety and Radiation (IRSN)... The purpose of the Delegation’s visit is to access bilateral cooperation activities between the two parties over the past time, introduce the French Center for Nuclear Research and Training and sign the Agreement on granting the permit to use the safety calculation program of nuclear reactor CATHARE.

VCAE’s representatives in the working session with the French Delegation were Director Vuong Huu Tan, Deputy Directors Bui Van Tuan and Le Van Hong, together with those from the Committee for International Cooperation, VCAE’s Office and agencies under the VCAE as Institute of Rare Radiation Technology, Institute of Atomic Science and Techniques... In the speech made at the meeting, Director Vuong Huu Tan, on behalf of VCAE has high appreciated cooperation activities in the atomic energy field between the two parties during the past 10 years, and the same time expressed sincere thanks the French government and CEA for granting the Commission the safety calculation software of nuclear reactor CATHARE.

At the signing ceremony of the Agreement on granting the permit to use the safety calculation software of nuclear pile CATHARE, Mr. Didier Kéchmair, the leader of the French Delegation and VCAE’s Deputy Director Le Van Hong, on behalf of the Vietnamese party to sign the above-mentioned Agreement. The two parties have agreed to continue strengthening the cooperation program between VCAE and CEA in general and explore efficiently the CATHARE software in particular.
