Minister Nguyen Quan met Mr. Milko Kovachev
Minister Nguyen Quan welcomed Mr. Milko Kovachev to visit and work with MOST. The Minister introduced with Mr. Milko Kovachev about some features of the status of building Vietnam’s first nuclear power plant. Minister Nguyen Quan said that after the incident of Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant No 1 in Japan, the security issue of nuclear power plants has been paid attention by Vietnamese Government and people. Therefore, Vietnam really needs experienced experts on security in order to ensure the safety operation of nuclear power plants in the future.
Minister Nguyen Quan expressed desires to cooperate with Worley Parson in training experts on safety, consultancy, supervision, design and operation of the first nuclear power plant.
Mr. Milko Kovachev thanked the Minister for spending time to meet with the mission. In the meeting, Mr. Milko Kovachev introduced with the Minister about capacities and activities of Worley Parsons in Vietnam, Southeast Asian and in the world; discussed about the development of the Nuclear Power Program in Vietnam when a new financial agreement has recently been signed with Russia; Worley Parsons’ roles and cooperation possibilities with MOST in nuclear power industry.
