Participating in the Conference were representatives from RCA member countries including India, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Japan, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Australia and Vietnam.
The leader of Vietnam’s delegation, as the RCA’s President for the last term chaired the opening session of the Conference.
Japan’s Deputy Minister of Sports, Education, Science and Technology attended the opening session, made a welcome speech and has affirmed the Japan would continue its supports for RCA’s activities. Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mr. Mokdad MAKSOUD had a speech to congratulate results of RCA’s activities and committed IAEA’s supports for RCA’s activities. The Conference has agreed to elect Mr. Tsutomu Arai, the Japanese national coordination to be the President for the 2009- 2010 term of RCA and approved some important documents and the work plan of this organization.
The Vietnamese Delegation has actively participated in activities and had significant contributions to the Conference’s success. On this occasion, the leader of the Vietnamese Delegation has invited representative from member countries to attend the 8th National Nuclear Science and Technology Conference to be organized in 8/2009 in Nha Trang City.
