This is one of important activities within the framework of Technical Cooperation Project with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on "Developing the infrastructure of nuclear electricity” coded VIE/4/015 in Vietnam.
Trainers consisted for IAEA’s senior officials together with experienced experts of the nuclear electricity industry from the UK and Canada. Participating in the training course were more than 40 participants from the Office of the State Steering Committee for Ninh Thuận Nuclear Power Plant Project, Ministry of Trade (Vietnam Electricity Group, Energy Institute), Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Science and Technology (Department for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, Department of Atomic Energy, Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission)….
In the training course, the participants were provided with basic knowledge on financial rules, total expenditure for a nuclear power plant, fuel expenses, costs for operation and maintenance, costs for human resource development, costs for waste treatment, especially issues relating to management of financial risks for projects on nuclear power plants and reorganization of key financial risks for nuclear power projects.
Also on this occasion, the participants directly practiced case studies in order to improve their financial management skills for Vietnam’s nuclear power plants in the future.
