Minister Nguyen Quan met with the President of Japanese Atomic Power Company

On September 28, 2011, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan had a meeting and working session with Japanese Atomic Power Company (JAPC) led by Mr. Yasuo Hamada – The Company’s President.

In the working session, Mr. Yasuo Hamada informed that in the morning of September 28, in Hanoi JAPC signed a contract with Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) on consultancy service for the location and feasibility project for Ninh Thuận Nuclear Power Plant No 2. He expressed his hope to have MOST’s assistance and support when it implements this project in Vietnam.

Minister Nguyen Quan congratulated JAPC and affirmed that Vietnam still believed in Japanese Government and proposed the two parties would try so the Nuclear Power Plant project would be implemented with higher safety and efficiency. The Minister also informed briefly about MOST’s responsibility in the implementation of Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant Project and hoped that JAPC would support Vietnam to train good experts in this field.

Mr. Yasuo Hamada thanked the Minister’s belief and affirmed that JAPC would try its best to meet Vietnam’s requirements in best ways.
