According to the Organizing Committee, IEYI - 2010 would will take place from 16/12 - 18/12/2010 in Vietnam – Russia Culture, Labor and Friendship Palace, Hanoi with the scale of about 200 counters from 40 participating nations. Deputy Minister Nguyễn Thiện Nhân will be the Honorary President the National Steering Council of this Contest- Exhibition.
Candidates are adolescents and young people at the age from 6-19 years old (as of 15/12/2010). Demonstration models and products in IEYI – 2010 are in 5 fields of learning aids; software; children toys and entertainment tools; environment protection and economic development. Product models to participate in the contest are made of available materials in the countries, it is encouraged to use wastes in families, schools. The deadline for receiving applications by the end of 15/9/2010.
The Organizing Committee said the total budget for organizing this contest would be VND 8 billion, in which the Government would support more than VND 3 billion and the remaining amount would be mobilized from domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises. The Organizing Committee expects to award 40 golden medals, 80 silver medals, 160 bronze medals and certificates for awarded candidates. In addition, there will be other prizes selected by organizations from many nations and territories.
IEYI – 2010 will be a useful playground in order to encourage potentials and promote innovations of Vietnamese and international adolescents and young people and an opportunity for Vietnamese young generations to compete with their friends from other countries. Especially, the hosting of this Contest is also an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce with international friends about the 1000th Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary, contributing to advertise images of peaceful and friendly country of Vietnam.
