Minister Hoang Van Phong has said regarding the State management on S&T, over the past years MOST has advised the Government to propose policies and programs on S&T renovation for increasing the productivity and quality of goods and products, in order to improve the competitiveness of enterprises. Recently national programs on improving productivity and quality of goods and products of Vietnamese enterprises by 2020 have been reviewed and issued. The Minister has emphasized that “To well implement renovation programs together, enterprises should be more active in accessing S&T knowledge, advanced management methodology to apply in production and business in order to improve the productivity and quality of Vietnamese goods and products”.
The contents of this Conference and forum has reflected the social and economic activities of the countries and Vietnamese enterprises, at the same time introduced efficient techniques and solutions as well as good practices of management and productivity improvement in order to increase the performance efficiency and competitiveness for Vietnamese organizations and enterprises.
Mr. Vu Van Dien, Deputy Director of STAMEQ has said for the 2006-2009 period we have developed, continued the improvement of legal basis for Standards, Metrology and Quality appropriate with requirements of social and economic management; improvement of the national standard system (TCVN), establishment of the technical specification system, development and maintenance of the metrology system … More than 1,000 TCVNs have been developed and submitted for publication, increasing the total number of current effective TCVNs to more than 6,000 TCVNs. In order to implement the Agreement on Technical Barriers To Trade (TBT) according to Decision 444/QĐ-TTg on Action Plan of the implementation of Law on Standards and Technical Specification, we have review the content of more than Vietnamese 5,000 standards and 3,000 branch standards issued in accordance to the previous Decree on goods quality to be changed into national standards and technical specifications. Currently there have been about 2,100 TCVNs equivalent to international standards. At the same time, the development of technical specification systems has been carried out with new approaches appropriate for the TBT Agreement and trends of international integration … From 2005 to 2008 nearly 500 enterprises were respected and granted with Vietnam Quality Awards and 17 enterprises have been awarded with International Asia Pacific Quality Awards (IAPQA).
Since the first organization in 1995, so far Vietnam Quality Conference has been regularly organized every two years in order to wrap up, review and orient development directions for the national production and quality movement appropriate with the social and economic conditions. After 13 times, the Forum for Productivity and Quality is one of activities which contribute actively to the national productivity and quality movement.
