On November 10, 2009 the National Center for Science and Technology Information (NACESTI) in coordination with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) organized the Conference on “Development of advanced infrastructure for scientific and technology research” in Hanoi. The Conference is within the S&T information cooperation framework between Vietnam and South Korea.
Participating in the Conference, in the South Korea party were Dr. Park Young-Seo – the President of KISTI, experts from computer supermarkets, the Center for Information and Knowledge and Center for Information Analysis under the KISTI; in Vietnamese party were Dr. Ta Ba Hung, the NACESTI’s Director. Also attending the Conference were more than 80 representatives who are scientific managers, researchers, IT experts and information officers and librarians from research institutes, S&T information agencies in Hanoi and surrounding areas.
The Conference has been focused on issues of developing the high-speed network infrastructure and use of advanced technologies as super calculation and net calculation …in order to serve for scientific research, production and business. The Conference has also been addressed some new services and strategies on S&T information applied by South Korea during recent time to serve the variety of users from scientists to businessmen.
In the Conference, South Korean and Vietnamese experts have shared knowledge and experience in the development of advanced network systems and network services for scientific research and technological development. The representatives have discussed and exchanged on the issues addressed in the Conference.
The Conference is the opportunity for Vietnamese scientists to meet and exchange experiences with South Korean colleagues in relevant fields.
