Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tien expressed his pleasure to meet with Irish working delegation and has affirmed that S&T required cooperation among countries for mutual development for social and economic development. The Deputy Minister has said currently development of high technologies for improving competitiveness of enterprises as well as the nation is a trend which has been paid attention by the State. In 2009 Vietnam’s National Assembly has approved Law on High Technology in which many preferences and incentives are provided for investors in the field of high technology in Vietnam, focusing on fields of information technology, biological technology, new materials and automation. The Deputy Minister has expressed the desire that cooperation between Ireland and Vietnam would be promoted in the coming time.

In the working session, Senator Conor Lenihan has expressed his thanks the Deputy Minister for spending time to meet and has said Ireland is a country experience in developing biological technology, pharmaceutical products and is willing to share experience and cooperate with Vietnam. Ireland has currently tried to integrate strengths of biological technology with information technology so that the field of biological technology is computerized. Senator Conor Leniha has hoped that Vietnam and Ireland would achieve new development steps in terms of cooperative relations in S&T.

Ireland is the leading country for technologies in information and communication, pharmacy and medical equipment and one of the fastest management locations for development funds in the world (the management location for development funds in Dublin). Ireland is a digital communication center in Europe, where multi-national groups have their head quarters in Europe and a wide range of supporting business activities are carried out here.

It is known that with the average income per capita is of 145% of the average level in Europe. Ireland is a country with the remarkable economic growth over the past 15 years. With advancements achieved in 1990’s, described as a phenomenon of “Celtic Tiger” – Ireland is one of the most open, dynamic and global economies in the world with large foreign trades and investments.
