In the morning of 07/9/2010, in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Hoàng Văn Phong had a meeting with Mr. Mitsuo SAKABA – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam on the occasion he is going to finish his term in Vietnam...

During two-year term as the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Mitsuo SAKABA has had many significant contributions to relationships between the two countries in general and in S&T field in particular. With Mr. SAKABA’S active contributions, Vietnam – Japan One Initiative of the two Governments have moved to Stage III. The implementation of One Initiation has made Vietnamese investment and business environment to achieve active breakthroughs. Specifically, the investment environment has significantly been improved, especially issues relating to information, education and communication on intellectual property. The One Initiative has not only increased Japan’s FDI in Vietnam but also strengthened a lot mutual reliability between the two countries.

Ambassador Mitsuo SAKABA is the person who has played the important role in promoting the implementation of Japanese key projects on supporting Vietnam as the project on infrastructure development of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park.

In the meeting, Minister Hoàng Văn Phong expressed his thanks to the Ambassador for his activities and important contributions to promoting the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Japanese and hoped in the coming time with his new position the Ambassador would continue his contributions to promote friendship relations between the two countries.
