Minister Hoàng Văn Phong met with the Japanese Minister of Economics, Commerce and Industry

On 24/8/2010, in Hanoi Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Hoàng Văn Phong had a meeting and working session with Japanese Minister of Economics, Commerce and Industry Masayuki Naoshima together with representatives from Japanese electricity...

In the meeting, Minister Hoàng Văn Phong highly appreciated the technology level, equipment of nuclear electricity of Japanese enterprises as well as its safety level, operational procedures for exploiting nuclear electricity. The Minister expressed his desires that Japanese investors would participate in the construction and provide support for Vietnam to develop nuclear electricity on the basis of mutual interests.

Minister Masayuki Naoshima proposed some cooperation activities relating to nuclear energy with Vietnam, including training human resources, contributing funds, promoting the development of nuclear technology, providing materials and supporting the cooperation on nuclear medicine.

The two parties agreed to send delegations to negotiate relating issues in details so that they can soon sign the Cooperation Agreement on Atomic Energy between Vietnamese and Japanese Governments.

The two parties highly appreciated achievements gained in cooperative relations in fields of economics, commerce, S&T,… At the same time, the two parties expressed their desires that the cooperation between the two countries would develop more and more in the coming time, especially in S&T field.

On the same day, Minister Hoàng Văn Phong had a meeting with a member of the Japanese House of Representatives Yasutoshi Nishimura (Ex- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs).

In the meeting, Minister Hoàng Văn Phong and the member of House of Representative Yasutoshi Nishimura discussed on Vietnam-Japan cooperation on the field of atomic energy and universe development.
