Participating in the Anniversary were members of the Political Bureau, Mr. Truong Tan Sang, the Standing Member of the Secretarial Committee; Mr. Nguyen Sinh Hung, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. HoDuc Viet, the Director of the Central Organization Committee of the Party; Mr. Pham Gia Khiem, Deputy Minister together with many high-ranking leaders of the Party and Government, as well as representatives from Ministries, branches and leaders of MOST over periods, officials which worked and have worked in this field.
At the Anniversary, Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Van Phong has presented the summary of 50-year implementation progress of the branch, as well as desires for Vietnam’s Science and Technology for the current period and future directions. Over the half of the century, Vietnam’s S&T has actively contributed to the social and economic development, strengthened the country’s industrialization and modernization, worked out resolutions and documents of the Party on S&T development to promote the social and economic development, formulated projects on Laws, Decrees and Ordinances in S&T field; compiled regulatory and legal documents; contributed to complete the legal system to adjust S&T activities over the periods…
Also at the Anniversary, representatives of scientists, S&T organizations, good enterprises have made speeches on assessing achievements, at the same time made suggestions and comments on S&T development directions and tasks for the coming years.
With achievements gained over the past 50 years, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung, on behalf of the Party and Government has presented Gold Medal for MOST. This award is worthy reorganization of outstanding achievements of S&T in advising the Party and Government on the consistent management of S&T activities and of important contribution to the nation’s development and protection.
Delivering a speech at the Anniversary, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has highly appreciated results S&T branch has gained. The Deputy Prime Minister has emphasized “Party and State has always considered S&T as first national policies. Future tasks of S&T branch are extremely significant. Therefore, right in 2010, S&T branch should make more efforts to change more and create impetus for the coming year. The branch should have strong changes in management mechanisms; have investments to make key products which create emphasizing points for the country; promote the development of S&T enterprises …The Government will stand side by side with scientists to determine the successful fulfillment of these heavy tasks”.
On behalf of the leaders, officials and staff of MOST as well as Vietnam’ S&T staff generations, Minister Hoang Van Phong has expressed his sincere thanks for the Party and Government’s attention paid to the country’s S&T development causes and will accept the Deputy Prime Minister’s guidelines. The Minister has affirmed that “MOST will continue to promote traditions of the past 50 year, try its best to have worth contributions to S&T development cause, develop S&T to become one of important forces to promote the country’s industrialization and modernization and deserve with the confidence of the Party, Government and people”.
